1895 Appointed a Justice of the Peace for the City of Manchester,
1901 Living at 553 Stockport Road, Longsight, Manchester: James Swift (age 58 born Wigan), General Secretary to Trade Union. With his wife Sarah, son James Swift (age 29 born Manchester), Book Binder, and two daughters.[2]
1902 Secretary to the Steam Engine Makers' Society.
1904 March 07th. He died suddenly, of 553 Stockport Road, Longsight, Manchester.[3][4]
