James Swift (c1842-1904)

c.1842 Born in Wigan

1881 James Swift 38, Secretary To Steam Engine Makers Society, lived in Chorlton with Sarah Swift 40, William Swift 15, James Swift 8, Sarah Swift 6, Mary A. Swift 2[1]

1895 Appointed a Justice of the Peace for the City of Manchester,

1901 Living at 553 Stockport Road, Longsight, Manchester: James Swift (age 58 born Wigan), General Secretary to Trade Union. With his wife Sarah, son James Swift (age 29 born Manchester), Book Binder, and two daughters.[2]

1902 Secretary to the Steam Engine Makers' Society.

1904 March 07th. He died suddenly, of 553 Stockport Road, Longsight, Manchester.[3][4]
