Sharwood's is a range of Asian sauces and accompaniments now owned by Premier Foods. Over 21 million Sharwood's curries are cooked each year. [1]

1889 James Allen Sharwood, a culinary explorer, founded J. A. Sharwood and Co.

1890 Sharwood introduced his first range of Indian chutneys, pickles and curry powders to the British public.

1899 Sharwood set up his first factory to manufacture chutneys.

1927 James Allen Sharwood retired, but his famous range continued to be highly popular.

1947 J. A. Sharwood and Co were granted the Royal Warrant as ‘Manufacturers of Chutney & Purveyors of Indian Curry Powders.

1962 Acquired by Cerebos.[2]

1968 Sharwood's became part of Ranks Hovis McDougall.

1989 A new Sharwood's distribution centre opened to keep up with the demand for restaurant-style products to create Asian eating experiences at home.

1994 Granted the Royal Warrant as 'Manufacturers of Oriental Sauces'.

2006 Sharwood’s launched a new range of Chinese, Thai and Indian chilled sauces.

2007 Sharwood's launched a new range of easy-to-use Thai food.

2007 Acquired by Premier Foods along with the rest of RHM.
