1852 The company was founded.
1921 Blake, Barclay and Company Limited was registered as a private company, with capital of £45,000, to take over the business previously carried on by Blake, Barclay & Co, engineers and millwrights.[1]
1936 Closure of the Greenock works was announced. The business had exported sugar refining plant around the world but suffered due to the development of indigenous industries and import duties levied on British products.[2]
