Henry Reeve of Reeve and Kenning

1888 Harry Reeve founded a wheelwright and blacksmith business in Bridge Street, Pilsley

Reeve's was to become a significant producer of commercial vehicles. The company progressed from building horse-drawn vehicles to a wide range of motorised vehicles including brewery trucks, ambulances, buses, coaches and vans. Their vehicles were built on bought-in chassis; they were able to produce complete vehicles through all stages including initial design, timber work, metalwork, building the vehicle and painting.
