1870 Steam-driven pump

James H Garstang & Co of Bank Top Foundry, Blackburn, Lancashire

  • 1870 Horizontal steam pumping engine for Rylands and Sons, Gidlow and Swinley Collieries, Wigan. This was located at the bottom of the mine, and pumped at 325 psi water pressure. Steam cylinder 20" bore, 18" stroke.[2]
