Inspec, speciality chemicals producer

1992 Company founded by Jim Ratcliffe as a management buyout from BP. Its operations at Hythe were major users of ethylene glycol[1]

1994 Introduced its shares to the Stock Market

1995 Acquired BP's Antwerp business, producer of speciality and commodity chemicals including ethylene glycol.

1998 Inspec was acquired by Laporte, joining the fine chemicals business[2][3]
