1953 The company began making paper tubes for centres for holding cloth and sheet plastics
1957 Introduced spiral winding techniques to make a wide range of tubes
1961 A paper mill at Stainland was acquired
By 1963 the company had built up a predominant position in the UK market for paper cones and tubes
1966 Name changed to T.P.T. Ltd
1967 Formation of a development and research department
1970 Public offer of shares
1973 The company had had another profitable year; expanded the manufacturing capacity; the printed carton subsidiary Wheatley Davies had completed another year of profitable growth[2]
