1906 The Eclipse Tool Company Limited, Paisley, was incorporated as a private company, with capital of £5,000, to acquire the business of the Eclipse Tool Manufacturing Company at Linwood, near Paisley.[1]

1910 The company went into voluntary liquidation in February.[2] The business apparently continued thereafter, though without again becoming a limited company.

1922 Proprietor: W. J. Hart Reid. Employees: 250. Manufactures.—Lathes, lead presses, hydraulic pumps, centring machines, and disc grinders.
