1860 The company was registered and contracts entered into with Mr Brunlees, the civil engineer, and R. Sharpe and Sons for the construction of the line, purchase of the rolling stock and maintenance for 12 months after opening[1]
1867 The line, 86.5 miles in length, was open and earning revenue[2]
1913 108th Ordinary General meeting was held in London[3]
