Hacks medicated cough sweet.

Made to a traditional recipe containing a blend of herbal extracts as well as menthol, eucalytus and liquorice.

1950s Appointed Barkath Stores as their sole agent for Malaya and Singapore.

1955 "Hacks the cough sweet that's a treat to eat". Made by White-Hudson of Southport[1]

Mid-1960: Haji Abu Backer obtained manufacturing rights in Malaysia and set up a manufacturing base in Penang.

The original factory in Southport closed in the early 1970s but the sweets are still made to the same recipe in Malaysia.
