Vaughn Rood Machine Co
of Peabody, USA.
1903 George C. Vaughn, who played a major part in tanning machinery development, set up the Vaughn-Rood Machine Co., which became a major challenger to the Vaughn Machine Co.
US Court decisions led to the transfer of patents and machinery designs from the Vaughn Machine Co. to the Turner Tanning Machinery Co.
Survival of the old established Vaughn business demanded a change from making leather-trade machinery into the expanding automotive sector. For a time this seemed to fill the void for the engineering concern. Demise however, soon followed.
The Vaughn-Rood Machine Co. was later taken over by the Turner Tanning Machinery Co.
