1914 Principals: Mrs. H. E. Bowhill, W. H. Eagleton and William Hubbard.

The factory in Bridewell Alley is the building known as the Old Bridewell, built in 1407 and occupied then by the first Mayor of Norwich, William Appleyard. One of the walls of the building is said to be the finest example of squared flint work in the kingdom.

1915 Thomas Bowhill and Hubbard Ltd was incorporated to acquire the business.

1950 Sale of machinery and chattels to Bowhill and Hubbard (Machinery) Ltd of Norwich

1966 Thomas Bowhill and Hubbard Ltd was renamed Start-Rite Shoes Ltd
