Miller and Barnes
Miller and Barnes of Glass House Field, Ratcliffe were shipbuilders on the Thames
- 1822 founded by Joseph Miller (1797-1860) and John Barnes (1798-1852) at Glasshouse Fields, Ratcliffe. The latter was a godson of James Watt and both received their training at the Soho Foundry under William Murdoch.
- 1838 quoted for supplying a locomotive to the North Midland Railway
- Later the firm was known as Miller and Ravenhill and Ravenhill and Salkeld
- 1840 The company was taken over by Simpson and Co
