Mercury Motorcycles
Mercury were motorcycles produced from 1933 to 1959, by a group of enthusiasts in Croydon, Surrey.
Production was limited and all the machines had Scott twin-cylinder engines mounted in a frame construced from I-section light alloy extrusions. Rear suspension was devised to maintain constant chain tension, while the front had a form of duplex steering with a type of telescopic fork, similar to that used by OEC. It was fitted with 8-inch brakes on alloy hubs, a stepped dual seat, and the sides were fully enclosed.
A prototype and five machines survived into the 1980s.
