Thompson L'Hospied and Co
Charles Herbert Thompson was trained as a chemist and had many commercial interests in England and France. He formed the Crystaline Company as well as operating the firms of Bullers Ltd in Tipton and Thompson L'Hospied & Co Ltd near Stourbridge. He also owned an art pottery near to that of Clement Massier at Golfe Juan in the South of France[1].
1895 Thompson invented Verre sur Verre enamelled glass.
1939-43 Thompson L'Hospied and Co. Ltd purchased land adjoining Incandescent Heat Co at Amblecote, Stourbridge, West Midlands
1961 Incandescent Heat Co was acquired by Wellman, Smith, Owen Engineering Corporation
1965 Thompson L'Hospied and Co was renamed Wellman Alloys
