Crown Copper Co
Crown Copper Co, works at Neath, South Wales, head office 36 Cannon St, Birmingham.
c.1797 The Crown Copper Works was erected on the right bank of the River Neath about half a mile downstream of the Mines Royal Works. A co-operative partnership of Birmingham people, similar to that of the Birmingham Metal and Battery Co, the Crown Copper & Spelter Co., opened works on the Neath river which it operated until 1839[1]
1804 the Rose Copper Co of Birmingham were in occupation of the works.
1823-4 Crown Copper Co was established in Birmingham[2]. The smelting houses were in Neath.
1847 Still in production
Later taken over by Williams, Foster and Co.
1881 Copper production ceased on the site
