Richard Janion Nevill
Richard Janion Nevill (1785–1856)
1785 Born in Birmingham, the youngest son of Charles Nevill
1812 Married Anne Yalden (c.1782–1863), eldest daughter of William Yalden and his wife, Anne, who had been resident in Llanelli from about 1784. They had eight children.
1813 Took on local control of the Daniell, Savill, Guest, and Nevill coppersmelters company on his father's death.
Richard Janion expanded the copperworks and collieries, diversifying the company into brass, yellow metal, lead and silver smelting, and shipping; additional industrial interests were acquired outside Llanelli.
Janion was also involved in banking, industrial shareholding, the timber trade, shipping, land purchase, and mineral leasing.
1856 Nevill suffered a stroke and died at Llangennech Park on 14 January
