1841 Listed as Brewer with his wife Mary and seven children.[1]
1851 Listed as Edward Nason (age 52 born Yorkshire), Brewer and Maltster. With his wife Mary, nine children and three servants.[2]
1857 Indenture. ' ...an indenture, bearing date the 10th day of July, 1857, and made between Edward Nanson, of Sheffield, in the county of York Brewer, a person of unsound mind, and William Harvey, of the city of Manchester, Cotton Spinner, appointed by the Right Honourable the Lords Justices, by an Order, dated the 3rd day of July, 1857, made in a cause of Nanson v. Nanson, to execute the said indenture on behalf of the said Edward Nanson, of the first part; Henry Vallance, of Essex-street, Strand, in the county of Middlesex, Gentleman, of the second part; Frances Nanson, late of Sheffield aforesaid, but then of London, widow of John Samuel Nanson, late of Sheffield aforesaid, Brewer, deceased (who carried on business at Sheffield aforesaid, as a Brewer, in copartnership with his brother, the said Edward Nanson, under the name or firm of Nanson and Company), of the third part...'[3]
