Edward Harcourt (1757–1847), archbishop of York
1757 born Edward Venables-Vernon at Sudbury Hall, Derbyshire, on 10 October , the second and younger son of George Venables-Vernon, first Baron Vernon of Kinderton (1710–1780), and his third wife, Martha (1715–1794), third daughter of Simon Harcourt.
1830 his cousin, William Harcourt, third Earl Harcourt, died, leaving him extensive estates; Venables-Vernon changed his name, taking the surname of Harcourt. He made the Harcourt seat of Nuneham Courtenay, Oxfordshire, his main family residence and spent considerable sums on restoring the house and park
