Globe-Trotter was founded in Saxony, Germany in 1897, by an Englishman called David Nelkin. In 1901 he moved to London with the company. Notable people who have used Globe-Trotter include Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, who used it for her honeymoon luggage; Winston Churchill, who, as Chancellor of the Exchequer, used an attaché as his Despatch Case, and Sir Edmund Hillary who took Globe-Trotter suit cases to the base camp of Everest in 1951.
