John Edward Morgan
John Edward Morgan, (- 1892).
- He was educated at Conway, Shrewsbury and at University College, Oxford.
- 1852 He gained classical honours and his B.A.
- 1860 He gained his M.A. at St. Mary's Hospital, London.
- 1862 He gained his M.R.C.P and M.B of Oxford.
- 1868 He became F.R.C.P. London.
- 1865 He obtained the degree of M.D of his Alma Master.
- He bacame Physician to the Salford Hospital and Lecturer on Pathology at the Manchester Royal School of Medicine.
- He was honorary secretary of the Sanitary Association and was active in promoting the scheme of public Health and Science Lectures which were delivered in Manchester.
- He was an active promoter of the Manchester Nurse Training Institution.
- 1865 His Paper 'The Danger of Deterioration of Race from the too rapid increase of Great Cities, was read at the Social Science Congress at Sheffield.
- 1867 He became Honorary Physician to the Infirmary adn to the Cheadle Lunatic Asylum.
- 1873 He was elected Professor of Medicine in Owend College.
- 1886 He was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and became a member of its council in 1887.
- Published Works include: 'University Oars'. (1873)
- 'Town Life Among the Poorest '(1869) Longmans, Green and Co.
- 1892 Sept.17th John Edward Morgan died at Nether Tabley, Knutsford, Cheshire. [1]
