Harry Leslie Mittell (1900-1944)

Harry Leslie Mittell was born in 1900 and educated at Leven School, Fife, and the Heriot Watt College, Edinburgh.

After serving five years' apprenticeship with Bruntons, Ltd., he was engaged by Edinburgh Corporation as a Junior Draughtsman.

In 1929 he was promoted to Assistant Engineer Grade II, and in 1933 to the position of Chief Draughtsman.

Following the outbreak of war he joined the Army, and died in North Africa on 23rd March, 1944.

He was elected an Associate Member in 1938.
