1915 Report of will. 'The will has been proved of the late Captain Arthur Joseph Clay, Grangewood, Overseal, Burton-on-Trent. Director of Messrs. Bass, Ratcliff and Gretton, and eldest son of the late Mr. C. J. Clay, of Holly Burton. He was also on the directorate of the Gordon Hotels, and some years ago, with his brothers, established the Ryknield Motor Works at Burton, now known the Baguley Cars (Limited). Captain Clay died Harpenden, where he was on service with his regiment, the 6th (Reserve) Battalion North Staffordshire, the February last, leaving estate valued at £53,499 18s. 2d.....'[1]
