Location of several prototype nuclear reactors, in Cumbria. Now part of the Sellafield complex.

1963 The prototype Advanced Gas Cooled Reactor was commissioned at Windscale, with generating capacity of 28MW. It was seen as the start of the second generation of nuclear power plant in the UK[1]
