1896 the Board of Trade sent Major Tulloch to Paris to acquaint himself with motor-car traffic before setting itself to the task of preparing a set of rules for road traffic regulation in Britain.[5]

1922 Died in Guernsey[7] 'The death is announced of Major Hector Tulloch. C.B.. R.E., who, when an Inspector of the Local Government Board, held several inquiries into loan applications in Bath and the district. Major Tulloch was 87 years of age'[8]
