Callendar and Nicholson

This refers to the academic partnership of Hugh Longbourne Callendar and Dr Nicholson (possibly the latter refers to Professor J. T. Nicholson of Manchester College of Technology). They did some important experiments on the thermal effect of cylinder walls in steam engines; these were carried out at McGill University, Toronto, in 1895[1]
