1871 Living at 243 Moseley Road, Birmingham: Thomas Auster (age 45 born Birmingham), Coach Axle and Spring Manufacturer employing 30 men and 4 boys. With his wife Sarah Auster (age 33 born Dudley) and their seven children; Edward Auster (age 12 born Birmingham); Ellen E. Auster (age 11 born Birmingham); Alfred W. Auster (age 9 born Birmingham); Arthur C. Auster (age 7 born Birmingham); Sarah H. Auster (age 5 born Birmingham); Walter W. Auster (age 3 born Birmingham); and Howard I. Auster (age 1 born Birmingham). Two servants.[1] Note: His wife's name appear to be in error as it was Eliza.
