1815 Advertisement: 'To SOLD by AUCTION by Mr. Foster, at the Colliery, Oakenrod, near Rochdale, on Thursday the fourteenth day of Sept. 1815, a Most Capital ATMOSPHERIC ENGINE, made by Messrs. Smalley, Thwaites, and Co. of Bolton ; the Cylinder Forty Inches diameter, with most excellent Beam, and about Thirty-three Yards or upwards of Twelve-Inch and Thirty-three Yards of Nine-Inch Pump Trees, and various other Things lately used at the said Colliery.
For Inspection, apply to Mr. Edmund Else, Reed-Inn, Rochdale.'[1]
