Sir Charles Reed and Sons
1861 Alderman Besley, of Robert Besley and Co, retired which left a gap in the type-founding industry; to fill the gap, his friend Charles Reed set up business in Fann Street (possibly this was Reed and Fox).
1877 The business became Sir Charles Reed and Sons
1894 Incorporated as a limited company
1905 Merger with Stephenson, Blake and Co as Stephenson, Blake and Co and Sir Charles Reed and Sons
1914 Name changed to Stephenson, Blake and Co
