On Mr. Hemans' retirement from the firm of Hemans, Falkiner and Tancred, Travers Hartley Falkiner formed a partnership with Mr Hemans' son-in-law, Sir Thomas Tancred.

1878 They undertook a contract for the Lismore to Dungarvan section of the Waterford, Dungarvan and Lismore Railway.
