John Taylor (1822-1904), engineer, ironfounder, of Midland Foundry, Queen's Road, Nottingham
c.1822 Born in Nottinghamshire, son of John Turner, printer[1]
1841 A turner's apprentice, living in Nottingham in the house of John Manning[2]
1847 Married Mary Oldknow in Aston[3]; Mary was daughter of John Oldknow, a machinist.
1851 An iron turner, lived in Lincoln with Mary Taylor 24, William Taylor 2, Henry Taylor 1, John Taylor 3 Months[4]
1861 John Taylor 38, iron turner, lived in Nottingham with Mary Taylor 33, William Taylor 13, Charles H Taylor 11, John James Taylor 10, Joseph Taylor 6, and his niece Mary Ann Oldknow 15[5]
1873 Joined the I Mech E
1895 retired from the business which was continued by his son.
1904 Died in Nottingham[6]
