1915 June. The Liverpool munitions committee approached the Cunard Steam Ship Co to establish a munitions factory.

The [[National Shell Factories|NSF Liverpool] was a new warehouse in Gladstone Docks (Rimrose Road). Munitions supplied were 4.5in, 6in and 8in shells.
