A horse-drawn tramway

1892 Contracted with the Electric Tramcar Syndicate to work their cars on their lines. They installed plant in the company's premises at London Road, Thornton Heath.[1]

1894 experimented with a gas-powered tram, using town gas compressed to 8 atmospheres and stored in the tramcar where it fuelled an Otto-engine
