1841 Thomas Pollitt 70, drysalter, lived in Halifax with Thomas Pollitt Jun. 25, Joseph Pollitt 25, ironfounder, Lydia Pollitt 35, Ann Pollitt 35, Mary Pollitt 30, Sarah Pollitt 30, Maria Pollitt 15, Edward Pollitt 15, millwright apprentice, Ada Pollitt 4[3]

1848 Joseph Pollitt occupied the iron foundry at Warley belonging to George Bates; Samuel Pollitt occupied a wood mill at Warley belonging to George Bate[4]

1861 Joseph Pollit 44, ironfounder and engineer, lived in Sowerby Bridge, with his father, Thomas Pollit 92, and his sisters Ellen Pollit 54, Sarah Pollit 49[5]
