1875 The results of initial experiments with the application of tuyeres for cold air to the top of puddling furnaces (based on the Rogers principle) were shown to a company of mill and forge managers visiting the Bull Bridge Ironworks, near Wolverhampton, of Messrs William Molineaux and Co. Pig iron of a medium quality was thoroughly puddled in only 15 minutes.[1]
