Bernard Robert Parkinson
1872 Born in London son of William C. Parkinson
Educated at New College, Eastbourne
1889-91 Read engineering at Univ. Coll., London.
1891-5 Pupil at Birmingham Gas Works under Charles Hunt
1895-1902 Worked for Parkinson and W. and B. Cowan; in the later part of the period he was in charge of the gas stove factory in Birmingham.
1902-4 With Wrekin Foundry, Wellington
1905 With Corbet Woodall and Son, consulting engineers; specialised in Gas Distribution; inventor of the Woodall and Parkinson "Expansion Nipple" and the Parkinson Rigid Joint for solid drawn steel gas mains.
1910 Associate Member of Inst Mech Engineers
By 1939 was M.I.Mech.E., Hon.M.Inst.Gas E. Tech. Dir., Parkinson and Cowan, Ltd., Fitzalan Street Works, Kennington Road, S.E.11.
