1862 Patent by John Hodgkinson, Cotton Spinner, and Daniel Greenhalgh, Manager, both of Bolton, in the county of Lancaster, in respect of the invention of "improvements in machinery or apparatus for preparing or combing cotton, wool, and other fibrous materials."[1]
