Cycloplane

1909 'A verdict of "Natural death" was returned yesterday at the inquest on Frederick Taylor, aged 78, of Beauchamp-road, Lavender Hill, who died from heart failure whilst testing a contrivance which he called the Cycloplane. The apparatus which is made of hollow cardboard, is triangular in shape, the idea being that the wind would circulate through the hollow space and have a buoyant effect. The body was found by the roadside of Wandsworth Common, with the contrivance fixed to the head.'[1]
