Allen West (1877 - 1957), founder of Allen West and Co.

1894 Allen West started work at Ferranti's where he worked until 1899 when he joined up to fight in the Boer War.[1] Invalided out of the army, he went to Hove for convalescence where he met his wife-to-be, Miss Ida Kenyon-Stow.

1910 Founded Allen West and Co.

1933 Resigned as Managing Director but remained on the Board.

1953 Retired from the company.[1]

1957 Died in his 80th year.
