Greenslades Tours





1912 Brothers William James Greenslade and Gilbert John Greenslade, who had previously joined their father's cycle repairing and manufacturing business, purchased a Model T Taxi. They quickly expanded the business by purchasing two more Model T's and introduced a service between Hele Station and Bradninch. They further expanded with a couple of French built charabancs and commenced a coach service from Bradninch.
1933 Greenslades became Greenslades Tours
1953 Greenslades Tours sold to British Electric Traction Co
1969 B.E.T sold Greenslades to Western National part of the National Bus Co
1983 With privatisation Greenslades passed to newly formed Devon General.
1987 Nightingale Coaches of Exmouth purchased Greenslades from Devon General.
1990 Greenslades was saved after a hard recession by Hookways of Meeth and Greenslades bacame Hookways Greenslades.
Hookways Greenslades continued to trade until 2011 when it ceased trading.
