Thompson Products Inc of Detroit, USA, patented a number of items including joints concerned with independent suspension for vehicles.

1949 Automotive Products Associated Limited manufactured Thompson steering track rods amongst other products.[1]



2006 Glenn Alexander Thompson (of Australia) invented the world's first constant velocity universal joint that had no load bearing sliding surfaces. [2]
