Oykel Viaduct
The Oykel Railway Viaduct (also known as the Invershin Viaduct or Shin Railway Viaduct) crosses the Kyle of Sutherland carrying the Far North Line between Inverness and Wick and Thurso. Invershin railway station is at the north-eastern end of the viaduct, while Culrain railway station is a short distance to the south.
The 230 ft lattice girders span is approach by masonry arch sections.
Constructed between 1867-8 by Charles Brand and Son[1]. Engineers Joseph Mitchell and Murdoch Paterson.
