FRANCIS ROSSER PHILLIPS died at his home at Pontardawe on July 2, 1939; he was seventy-one years of age. He was formerly manager of the Bryn Tinplate Works, which merged with Richard Thomas & Co., Ltd., some three years ago. He was an important figure in the tinplate trade; he was Chairman of the joint industrial council on the employers’ side, and served on the joint conciliation board. He was one of the representatives on the International Cartel.
Mr. Phillips joined the Iron and Steel Institute in 1910.
