George Frederic Preston (1872-1953)

1872 Born in Rugby the son of Andrew Preston, Steel Maker.

1901 Living at 102 School Road, Nether Hallam: Andrew Preston (age 52 born Woodhouse Eaves), Steel Manufacturer and Widower. With his daughter Edith M. Preston, Music Teacher and son George F. Preston (age 28 born Rugby), Manager, Iron Foundry.[1]

1903 Married to Bertha Emily Loxley.[2]

1911 Living at 18 Ecclesall Hall Road Sheffield: George Fredric Preston (age 38), manager in steel foundry. With wife Bertha Emily Preston (age 35), and son Fredric Loxley Preston (age 5).[3]

1920 Won award for article on foundries. Mr. G. F. Preston, 23, Endeliffe Rise Road. Sheffield.[4]

1939 George F Preston 67, steel foundry, later steel works, manager then Clerk (ratings) at Town Hall, retired, lived in Sheffield with Bertha E Preston 64, Constance M Preston 27[5]

1953 Died in Sheffield[6]
