Charles Eric Naylor (c1905-1930) of Naylor Brothers (of Huddersfield)
Born the son of George Wilfred Naylor
1930 Died. 'It is with regret we have to announce the death, under tragic circumstances of Mr. Charles Eric Naylor, a member of the firm of Messrs. Naylor Brothers, contractors, of Denby Dale, which took place on Sunday afternoon. Mr. Naylor, who was 25 years of age, a fortnight ago last Monday had filled his motor-car with petrol, and had evidently got petrol on his clothing for when a little later he struck a match they burst into flames, and he was badly burned. Dr. Bleasdell attended him, and he was also seen by a specialist, but septic set in, and he passed away as stated. In July of last year he married Miss Esca May (Denny) Barker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brook Barker, of Penistone, for whom much sympathy is felt. Mr. Naylor was of a particularly genial disposition, and was very generous, and his many friends in the Pen'. stone district were shocked when they heard the news of his death.'[1]
