1939 'Formation of a new company, to be known Tasman Empire Airways, Ltd., is a prelude to regular services linking Australia and New Zealand'.[1]

1939 'The British flying boat Aotearoa arrived at Auckland, New Zealand, today completing her delivery flight to Tasman Empire Airways. The trip of 1,360 miles across the Tasman sea occupied seven hours 19 minutes. She will be used for the service across the Tasman sea, extending the Southampton—Sydney Empire Service to New Zealand'.[2]

1965 'Tasman Empire Airways, yesterday changed their name to Air New Zealand'[3]
