Born the son of Harry Leader

1972 Died. 'MR CYRIL LEADER a former well-known footwear manufacturer and magistrate died suddenly at his home The Crest Shilton Road Barwell yesterday...A Leicester born man, Mr Leader who was 74 moved to Barwell at an early age and he and his father, Mr Harry Leader, started the family business, H. Leader and Co Ltd in Chapel Street in 1914... On the death of Mr. Leader, senior, his son became managing director of the business. Mr Leader, who closed the factory on retirement three years ago, was connected the Benson Shoe Co for more than 40 years and was managing director for the last few years...'[1]
