1914 Founded by Harry Leader. Continued by his son Cyril Leader and then by his son Henry Hardwick Leader

1918 Partnership change. '...the Partnership heretofore subsisting between us, the undersigned, Henry Hardwick Leader, William Booth and Henry Cyril Leader, carrying on business as Boot and Shoe Manufacturers, at Chapel-street, Barwell, in the county of Leicester, under the style or firm of H. LEADER & CO., has been dissolved by mutual consent as and from the 23rd day of February, 1918. All debts due to and owing by the said late firm wall be received and paid by the said Henry Hardwick Leader and Henry Cyril Leader, by whom alone the business will in future be carried on...'[1]
