The Royal Exchange Shipping Co. Ltd. aka Monarch Line, the names of their ships

1870 The line was founded; it had sailing ships on the Mediterranean and Far East trades.

1880 Started New York - London sailings, with calls at Galway on the outward voyages.

1886 Due to a severe slump in trade, the company went into liquidation; some of their ships went to the Allan Line and some to the Wilson Line.
