1996 Kvaerner acquired Trafalgar House[1]. A new structure was established to bring together the UK-based oil and gas activities of 2 of Kvaerner's subsidiaries and 2 of Trafalgar House's subsidiaries; the new business would be called Kvaerner Oil and Gas; the HQ would be in Aberdeen; operational bases were in Teesside, Lowestoft and Fife.[2]

2001 Aker Maritime acquired Kvaerner; this would involve merging the production of oil and gas facilities by the 2 companies[3]
